Reference: Colossians 3:1-4
If you will notice carefully the verses ofscriptures above you will see that they speak of two very different anddistinct lives. Paul tells us here that our life is hid with Christ and it isChrist's life that is now being manifested in and through our mortal flesh. Nowthe life which is said to be hid with Christ is of course referring to our oldnatural way of life. Did you know that there is as much difference between thenatural way of life and the spiritual way of life as there is in daylight anddarkness?
Now I would say that everybody hasknowledge of what the natural life is, because everybody was born this way fromthe womb of their mother, but at the same time I am very sure that not many arefamiliar with what the spiritual life is and what it consists of. Another thingthat I am quite sure of is that not many people actually knows what the naturallife completely consists of outside of the fact that it's a life of sin.
Before we can understand what thespiritual life is then we must understand completely what a life of sin is. Tothe average person, most are led to believe that a life of sin is a life ofnothing but sinful ways of living such as drinking, smoking, cursing, fighting,gambling and many other degrading acts of conduct. Now this is of course verytrue that these things will be present in the life of a sinner, but there arealso other things that a sinner partakes of that many confessing christianstoday are classifying as being the fruits of a christian life.
Did you know my friend that a sinner is apartaker of both good and evil deeds and that these good and evildeeds is what makes up a life of sinful living? Oh yes, my friend, the goodthat a sinner can manifest in their life is yet very much part of the completesinful life that they live. Now let me make a very devastating statement righthere that may come as an electrifying shock to you. The good deeds that asinner can manifest in their life is exactly what the average confessingchristian today thinks is the christian fruits that they bear by theiracceptance of Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
What people call a christian life isnothing more than a cultivation of the good and trying to keep the evilat a minimum. The natural life is a life that consists of both good andevil. Good and evil is exactly what Adam and Eve became conscious of when theyfell into sin. Reading Genesis the thirdchapter, we find thatthe serpent told Eve that she surely would not die if she ate of the tree ofthe knowledge of good and evil, but rather her eyes would be opened, and shewould be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Adam and Eve had no knowledge of good andevil before they partook of the tree that God had told them not to eat of. Toknow what good and evil is simply means that this is exactly what man willpartake of. We all know that there is a little good in everybody. This is asaying that many quote no matter how vile a person may be. This is because weall know that a person is not completely sinful manifesting sinful deed all thetime. The great apostle Paul himself made the astounding statement that when hedid do good, evil was yet present with him. Paul was describing his naturalcondition when he was in the flesh being subject to its power and influence.Paul knew about the good and evil being in his flesh, but the average persontoday is being deceived thinking that their struggle to manifest the good andtrying to keep the evil at a minimum is what the christian life is. This iswhere Satan is deceiving the entire world today as well as millions throughoutthe ages of time since the time of Christ.
The average confessing christian todaywill tell you that nobody can cease from sin. They say this because theythemselves can't do it. The reason why they can't cease from sin is becausethey have not been truly set free from sin's power and hold in their lives.Most people have been taken captive by Satan and they oppose themselves andthey in turn will not believe the scriptures on the sin question. The word ofGod clearly points out the fact that a born again child of God does not commitsin nor can they sin, but since the average confessing christian today yetcommits sin in their lives, they can't possibly agree with the Bible on thissubject.
Satan has deceived them giving them afalse concept of what the christian life is and what it does and does notconsist of. The general concept of christianity today is nothing more than amental belief in the mind of believing they are born again christians while allthe time they are in conflict with their own fallen nature. The world today isfaced with the fact that something is drastically wrong with society. Thisrealization of moral decay is a spiritual awakening letting the world know thatGod has truly been left out of the affairs of mankind.
Man today is forever more looking foranswers to their many rising problems. The only answer to man's many oncomingperplexities is revealed in the word of God found written in the Bible.Although there are many saying today that Christ is the answer, this in itselfis not enough to solve all the promlems that the world is so full of. Yes,Christ is the answer, but it seems that no one is wanting this way out of theirsituations. The word and ways of God hasforever been the only true source that man could take that would give him truepeace and happiness, but God has been left out of man's affairs no matter howloud they may say that in God we trust.
Man today has gotten himself in such acondition that it's utterly impossible for him to get themselves out of themess they are in. It seems that everybody is looking for someone to have allthe answers to their problems, but the only man who truly has the answer isChrist. This world will never humble itself down and take the word of God justexactly the way it is stated. There are thousands of false preachers andteachers in the world today proclaiming a false religion that only binds manmore tighter in his deceived state.
The life that Christ gives is the only wayfor man to be at peace with himself, but the average individual today willreject the truth of God's word and bring it down to his own level. If peoplewould receive and obey what God's word says instead of trying to make it suithis own pernicious ways, then they would know and experience for themselvesthat God is what he says he is and will do what he says he will do.
In order to experience what God's wordsays, then we must do and believe what it says. God's word says that sin shallnot have dominion over the believer, but today this truth is rejected and manis forever more coming up with varied versions of so-called translations of theword of God. If people would do what God's word says and believe what his says,then they would know for themselves what is truth and what is not truth.
Jesus said if a man would do God's will(which is doing what his word says) then he would know of the doctrine if itwas of God or not. So friend your wresting with scriptures will destroy you...
