Reference: Romans 8:5-7
Do you, my friend, know what a carnalminded person is? Are you the type of person that claims to be a born againchild of God while all the time you are carnal minded and failing to realizethat being carnal minded will lead you to death? You may belong to some churchin your community but this does not prove that you have a spiritual mind. Didyou know that a spiritual mind is not just a person that claims to haveaccepted Christ as Lord and Saviour? A spiritual mind is a mind that has beenmade spiritual through and by the power of the word of Almighty God that isrevealed in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. How much of the Bible can yousay that you have knowledge of? Are you one being deceived by false andmisleading clergymen that say you do not have to come to the knowledge of the contentsof the Bible? Are they telling you that your confession and acceptance of JesusChrist as Lord and Saviour is all there is to salvation and will make a bornagain child of God out of you prepared and ready for heaven? Please allow me toawaken you out of your slumber long enough to get you to realize that aspiritual minded person is a person that has come to the knowledge of the truththat the gospel reveals. Don't you know that the gospel contains more than justaccepting Christ as your personal Saviour? How is it possible for just youraccepting the fact that Christ died for you on the cross to make your mind aspiritually renewed mind?
Do you have this mind my friend? The word of Godtells us to be renewed in the spirit of our mind but did you know that just tosay you accept Christ as your personal Saviour cannot and does not renew yourmind making it the mind of Christ? If you will open your Bible to Romans 12:1-2 and read theseverses of scripture you will find the apostle Paul telling you to present yourbody unto God as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto him which isyour reasonable service to do. You are told not to be conformed to this worldbut rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you can provewhat is that perfect and acceptable will of God is for your life. Did you knowthat to be transformed by the renewing of your mind can only be done by yourreceiving the knowledge of the truth that is revealed in the gospel of the LordJesus Christ? Your mind is like a tape on a tape recorder. You can take a taperecorder and tape more than an hour of something on it. Before you can take thesame tape and record something else on it, you must erase what is on the tape.The tape recorder is equipped with what is called an erasing head. This erasinghead erases what is on the tape so that you can record something else on it.Your mind is exactly like the tape that contains many things within it. Yourmind is filled with carnal things that must be removed. The thing that will erasethe carnality from the mind is the truth of God's word as revealed in thegospel of Christ. You must be washed by the water of the word so that you willbe presented to Christ as a chaste virgin. The Bible tells us that Christ willpresent to himself a glorious church without spot, or wrinkle, or any suchthing; and it will be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians5:25-27) If you fail toallow the word of truth to wash you and make you clean then you are one thatChrist said as he said to Peter when he began to wash his feet, that if hewashed him not, then he would have no part with him. The receiving of the truthof the word of God is what will transform your carnal mind into a spiritualmind of Christ. God's word is quick and powerful sharper than a two-edged swordthat will divide assunder the soul from the spirit and is the descerner of thethoughts and the intents of the heart. (Hebrew4:12) To receive the truth of the wordwill renew your mind purging your conscience from dead works to serve the trueand living God. The truth of the gospel is what Christ shed his blood for. WhenChrist died on the cross, this brought into power the covenant of the NewTestament. The shedding of Christ's blood signified the end of the old covenantlaw. When Christ died on the cross the veil of the temple was rent down themiddle from the top to the bottom signifying that the way into the holiest ofall position was now made manifest through and by his shed blood for the NewTestament scriptures. The shedding of Christ's blood brought into power the newcovenant that will perfect the true believers that receive and obey it. Thetruth of the gospel will renew your mind purging out all the carnality. Aspiritual mind is a mind that the word of truth has renewed. The religiousworld today has not be renewed in the spirit of their minds because Satan hasblinded them from the knowledge of this truth causing them to believe thatacceptance and confession of Christ as personal Lord and Saviour is all thereis to salvation that makes them born again children of God. They fail toreceive the truth of the gospel in its entirety. Most people will not obey thesimple precepts of the gospel. The gospel very plainly states to repent and bebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shallreceive the gift of the Holy Ghost, but this truth today is blasphemed in mostdenominational churches calling it false teaching of the devil. We are told inthe word of God that to speak evil against the Holy Ghost is blasphemy thatwill not be forgiven in this world nor in the one to come. To blaspheme theHoly Ghost is done by your refusing to receive the truth speaking evil of oragainst it. The Holy Ghost is the reprover of the world as Christ says in John 16:7-11. Many today arerefusing to receive truth thinking it is false deceptive lies of Satan. TheBible very plainly tells us that if we reject the love of the truth then wewill be sent strong delusions that will cause us to believe a lie to be damned.Many today are believing lies sent to them for their refusal to receive theword of God with meekness which is able to save their souls. The theory ofevolution is believed by many today thinking they are desendants of an ape. Weare told that man was created in the image and likeness of God. This means thatman was made in all the characteristics of the heavenly Father. If you believethe distorted theory of evolution then you are actually believing that God isas being in an image made like to corruptable man, and to birds, and fourfootedbeasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:21-23) You will either receive the truth that will set you freeor else you will receive lies that will doom your soul forever. A lie will searyour conscience causing you to speak lies in hypocrisy. The truth will purgeyour conscience thus making you a true servant of the true and the living God.Many today are trying to serve God with a carnal mind. If you believe that thegospel is filled with promises to be received for your benefit but fail torealize that you must obey it then you have been deceived by Satan.
