Scripture References: John 6:35, John 6:50

In these scriptures Jesus is referring to himself as being bread that a man can eat of and never die, but this bread represents the living word of God. It was the same apostle John that tells us these words as written in John 1:1, 14 that says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” So we can see that the Word was made flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and to eat his flesh in order to have eternal life spiritually means to believe and obey his teachings. It’s the word of God that imparts life and not just believing on the person of Christ alone. The word “bread” can refer to both the natural realm of life and the spiritual realm of life. In the natural realm of life the word bread refers to the natural food that one must eat to sustain the physical life of the flesh until physical death occurs. In the spiritual realm of life it’s the spiritual food of Gods word that imparts spiritual life that will last throughout eternal ages without end. Jesus made it clear that the words he spoke and revealed was both spirit and life as stated in John 6:63 that says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

And the same apostle John tells us these words written in I John 5:12 saying, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” To possess the Son clearly reveals to know the truth of Gods word, but if one does not know the truth of Gods word, then its an evident fact they do not possess eternal life. In Matthew chapter 25:1-12 we find Jesus telling us that the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins that took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. This story of the ten virgins reveals the condition of people when Christ returns to receive the church that he will present to himself, as Paul describes in Ephesians 5:27 that says, “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Jesus reveals in the parable of the ten virgins that some will be wise and some will be foolish. Those that were wise knew the truth of Gods word, but those who did not know the truth were said to be foolish.

Those who knew the truth were prepared and ready for Christ’s return, but the foolish that was void of truth were deceived into believing they were ready. But they being ignorant of truth clearly reveals they had been deceived by the many doctrines of the false prophets that Gods word warns us about time and time again throughout all his teachings of the New Testament. The foolish virgins only believed on the person of Christ accepting him as Lord and Savior of their life thinking that saved them, but its not belief on Christ’s person that saves, but rather its belief and obedience to his teachings taught and revealed in his gospel. The apostle Paul also proves this in what he tells us in II Thessalonians 2:13 that says, “But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” The foolish virgins were totally void of truth not realizing that Christ is the truth of Gods word revealed in scripture. The wise virgins knew this and so they continued in Christ’s teachings that revealed the truth to them that made them free as Jesus said it would, as stated in John 8:30-32 that says, “As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Is it not a fact that a person can know whether they are free from sin or not? To be free from sin does not mean one is free from the penalty of sin and still live in and commit sin, but rather it means to have power over sin and to destroy it in your life. The apostle Paul tells us these words stated in Romans 6:14 saying, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” To be under grace does not mean that God will overlook your sins and count you righteous on the behalf of Christ, but this is exactly what ninety some percent of confessing Christians think and believe today.

List to what Paul says in regards to this in Romans 6:15 that says, “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” Do you not hear Paul asking if we can sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Did Paul say that because of grace we can sin? No, he said that God forbids us to sin. Then why is it taught in Christianity that those saved and or born of God still sin, but God does not see their sin? It’s simply because most people are believing the watered down and sugar coated teachings of the many false Prophets that Jesus said would rise and deceive many. Listen to what the apostle Paul tells us about the life we must live as we confess to follow Christ as stated in Titus 2:11-12 that says, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” How, may I ask, can a person live righteously and godly in this present world if sin is still being manifested in their life? If Christ is truly in you and you are in Christ, then the life manifested through your mortal body will be the sinless life of Christ, as Paul tells us in what he says in II Corinthians 4:10-11 that says, “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” I am here to tell you, as you read this article, that the life of Christ is not a sinful life, but is a perfect life without any sin whatsoever. The life of Christ is the only life that is without sin, and this is what he came to give us as stated in John 10:10 that says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” This life that he came to give us is both sinless and eternal. And this is why the apostle John tells us these words as stated in I John 5:12 that says, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” To have the Son does not mean that Christ only abides in our heart and will not be manifested as the life we live, but rather it will be the life of Christ that will become our manifested life daily as we live until we die. Listen to what the apostle Paul has to say regarding this in what he says in Colossians 3:3-4 that says, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Can you not see that Paul tells us that it’s Christ who becomes our manifested life, and our life, which is a sinful life, is hid with Christ in God? Christ who is our life is certainly not a sinful life, but listen to millions of confessing Christians still confessing to sin and even call themselves sinners while at the same time confess to be born again.

Can you not see the hypocrisy that they are involved in? Did not John tell us these words stated in I John 1:6-7 that says, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth; But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” To walk in darkness means to walk in the darkness of sin, but to walk in the light, as we must, it means to walk in the light of truth that will eventually cleanse us from all inbred sin. It’s the inbred sin that still abides in the fleshly bodies of millions of confessing Christians that continues to be manifested in the life they live. But if they would begin to walk in the light of the truths of Gods word those truths would in time cleanse them from all inbred sin and give them complete victory over the power and influence of sin. The reason of course why they cannot cease from sin is simply because the Spirit of Christ is not in them like they think and believe. Did not Jesus tell us these stated in John 15:5 saying, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Is it not a fact that without Christ we can do absolutely nothing as he tells us here? What specifically are these things that we cannot do without him? Let me first of all tell you what Gods word has to say concerning things that we must do. It was the apostle James that tells us these words stated in James 1:21-22 that says, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Notice carefully that James tells us we must be “DOERS OF THE WORD” and not just a hearer of it only. Now what does Gods word tell us to do? Listen to Jesus saying these words as stated in Matthew 5:48 that says, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Is not Jesus telling us to be perfect even as the Father in heaven is perfect? You no doubt have no problem believing that God Almighty is totally perfect, but when it comes to us, most will deny that this is not possible to achieve, but why then did Jesus tell us to be perfect? Are you one of the many millions of confessing Christians in the land today that does not believe in self perfection? You no doubt base this on the fact that you know that you are not perfect, even as you confess to be saved, and this is no doubt why you don’t believe in the doctrine of perfection. But how can you deny the fact that Jesus tells us to be perfect? Would he tell us to be perfect if it were not possible to achieve? What you need to understand is that somewhere in Gods word it tells us how we can be perfect as he tells us to be.

Are you willing to believe what his word says about this if I show you the scriptures that reveals how we can be perfect? If you don’t want to believe what Gods word says about this, then you may as well stop reading this article now and forget about it. In case you want to know, then listen to what the apostle Paul says about it. In Ephesians 4:11-13 we find Paul telling us these very words that says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” Paul reveals here that it’s the ministry of the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor, and the teacher, that will perfect the believer. The word of God is revealed through these ministry gifts that will perfect the believer if we believe and obey those many truths. Again Paul tells us these words stated in II Timothy 3:16-17 these words saying, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” Do you not hear Paul saying that the man of God may be perfect? This perfection of the believer does not just pertain to certain believers, but rather it pertains to all believers. List again to what Paul says about this in Colossians 1:28 that says, “Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” Paul does not exclude the female gender, but this includes all believers both male and female. Now if you cannot yet believe in the doctrine of the perfection of the saints knowing what Paul says about it, then its an evident fact that you are not believing the truths of Gods word, but you are believing what Paul calls another gospel, which in reality there is not another gospel. Paul warns us about other gospels in what he said in Galatians 1:6- 8 that says, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Now if you continue not to believe in the doctrine of the perfecting of the saints after seeing what Paul tells us about it, then I cannot help you and open your mind to understand it, because God himself is the only that can and will do this if you are willing to believe what his word says about it. Listen to what Paul says in regards to this in what he stated in II Timothy 2:24-26 that says, “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” If we are not willing to let God be true according to his word and count all men as liars until proven out otherwise, then he cannot help you. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” (Rev 3:22) Amen
