Reference: I Corinthians12:1 and Romans 6:3-4
The truth concerning the baptism intoChrist is very much misunderstood by the greatest majority of people today inthe nominal world of Christianity. Every denominational organization that Iknow of, teach that the baptism into the body of Christ is accomplished at thetime that one is baptized in water by the minister of their church that theyattend. If you will look very close at the verse of scripture above found in I Corinthians 12:13,it can be readily seen that to be baptized into Christ's body is the work ofthe Spirit, and not the minister or preacher at water baptism. The Spirit isthe baptizer into Christ's body, and not the preacher that does the baptizingin water. Most people read Romans 6:3 thinking that this baptism is the baptism in water, butthis verse is not referring to water baptism in this scripture. In order tounderstand the truth of the baptism into Christ's body, you must first realizethat the word "baptism" can be used to refer to the Spiritualbaptism, and also to the water baptism. There is a great difference betweenwater baptism and the Spiritual baptism. It seems that every religiousorganization took for granted that the baptism spoken of in Romans 6:3 and I Corinthians 12:13,is referring to water baptism, but a close look at other scriptures reveal thatthis baptism is the Spiritual baptism performed by the Spirit, and not thebaptism in water performed by the minister.
Every denominational church teachesthat the baptism into Christ is accomplished when one is baptized in water bythe minister. Some teach water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, andof the Holy Ghost, while others teach it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.Either way is taught that one is baptized into Christ's body, becoming a memberof the True Church by the baptism. The truth of the matter is that we are notbaptized into the body of Christ by being baptized in water, because the Bibleplainly says that by one Spirit are we baptized into the body of Christ. Theminister doing the baptizing in water, is not the Spirit thus proving that thisis not the baptism of the Spirit into the body of Christ. To be baptized intoChrist's body, which is the True Church, is accomplished by receiving theSpirit by obedience to the command of repentance and water baptism in the nameof the Lord Jesus Christ, as so stated in Acts2:38. The receiving of the Spirit isonly the beginning of the baptism. The baptism into Christ's body is aprogressive work of the Spirit, teaching and revealing the truth of the gospel.Receiving truth and walking in it is the baptism by the Spirit into Christ'sbody. To receive the Spirit is done by obeying the command of repentance andwater baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. The Spirit will then lead you intothe truth of the word of God that will plunge you deeper into the body ofChrist, making you a new creature in him. The churches of today look at theverse of scripture found in Matthew 28:19, thinking this means to be baptized in water, in the nameof the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, but this baptism is the baptisminto the body of Christ, which is a progressive work through the revealed truthof the scriptures. Some teach that Matthew28:19 is fulfilled at, and withobedience to Acts 2:38, but this is only the beginning of fulfilling the greatcommission. The Bible tells us in the Book of Revelations, that if we add tothe word, or take away from the word, then God will add unto us the plaguesthat are also written in the Bible. Many has added words to the Bible on thesubject of baptism, not really knowing the truth of what baptism is beingreferred to, when the word is being used in the scriptures. The word"baptism" is used in the scriptures, having a two-fold way of beingdone, whether by the Spirit, or by the minister in water baptism. We must knowand understand which baptism is being referred to when the word is used.Looking at Matthew 28:19, we can see that this verse of scripture does not say, tobaptize in water, but yet we see that every religious group takes for grantedthat water baptism is being referred to here in this verse of scripture. Thesame is also true for the scriptures of ICorinthians 12:13, and Romans 6:3. These versesof scriptures do not say to baptize in water, but yet every religious movementtook for granted that they do. Looking at Romans6:3, it tells us that as many aswere baptized into Christ, were baptized into His death. The body of water thatwe are baptized in by the minister is not the body of Christ. We are baptizedin a hole, or body of water by the minister, but this body, or hole of water isnot the body of Christ, as we well know, but yet many think that it is bybelieving that they were baptized into Christ's body at water baptism. Theminister is the one doing the baptizing in water, but the Bible tells us thatthe Spirit baptizes us into the body of Christ. Since it is the Spirit thatbaptizes us into Christ's body, then this is proof enough that we are notbaptized into Christ's body at water baptism. The word "baptize"means to be immersed into something, or under something. This word is used todenote the water baptism as well as the Spiritual baptism, but each baptism isaccomplished by two different agents. One being the Spirit, and the other theminister or the preacher. The baptism into Christ's body is accomplished by ourobedience to the revealed truth of God's word. Walking in the truth is whatplunges us into Christ's body, which is the Church. The first thing that wemust do is to repent of sin, and consent to being baptized in the name of JesusChrist in water. The word of God says to repent, and be baptized in the name ofJesus Christ for the remission of sins, and we shall receive the gift of theHoly Ghost. (Acts 2:38) Believing God's word will lead you into all truth thatwill set you free. The Spirit is given to those that obey God, as stated in Acts 5:32. Obedience toGod is your obeying what His word says. Doing what the word says will give youthe assurance that you did receive what was promised. The word of God says thatto repent and be baptized (in water) in the name of Jesus Christ, will impartto you the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Spirit will then lead you into the revealedtruth of the gospel that will set you free, making you a new creature inChrist. The Lord is soon to return in flaming fire to take revenge of them thatobey not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Is Hecoming to take you with Him, or to judge you unworthy of eternal life?
