To commit sin means to do things that is totally contrary to the ways and nature of God. It is a sin to steal, which means to take something from another person without their consent. When one person sins against another person that act of sin can cause anger to rise up and that anger could cause murder or some other bodily harm to be committed. To sin against God means to disobey his word. In Proverbs 8:36 we find these words saying, “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” To wrong our own soul means that when we sin against God that sin reflects back on us that can cause anger between us and our fellowman. You know what would happen to throw a five pound pork chop in a den of starving wolves. They would bite and devour one another to get that pork chop for themselves. The same thing happened when sin entered into this world; man began to bite and devour one another, because that sin causes a person to be self centered and will not tolerate anyone that opposes them. In the realm of the confessing Christian world today it’s taught that when Christ died on the cross his death paid the penalty not only for sins of the past, but also for all the sins of the present and future, but this belief is one of the doctrines of devils that Gods word warns us about.
When a person comes to God asking forgiveness of their sins, they are referring to the sins of their past; not sins of the present and future as they continue living their life. If Christ’s death has already paid the penalty for all sins including the past and the present and future, then why in the world we need power over sin as the above scripture reveals? Christ’s death only paid the penalty for our past sins and from that moment onward we are not to continue on in sin. Listen to what Paul tells us about this as stated in Romans 6:15 that says, “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” Is Paul telling us here that we can sin or is he clearly telling us that God forbids us to continue to sin? Why then do the multiplied millions of people involved in Christianity continue right on in sin after they claim to be forgiven of their past sins?
Why? It’s simply because they are believing a lie taught through one of Satan’s ministers only to be damned if they believe it. Are you one of the many that has been taught to believe this lie? Only if you allow Gods word to be true concerning this will he open your closed mind to see the truth of it so you can begin to recover yourself from the snare that Satan has you trapped in. God will open your eyes to the truth if you are willing to believe what his word has to say about this, but if you reject what Gods word says about this, then he will also reject you. Listen to what Hosea the prophet has to say about this in Hosea 4:6 that says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Does what Hosea have to say here have any bearing on what Gods word has to say about continuing on in sin after he has forgiven you of all your past sins? Does Gods word teach that we are not forbidden to sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? It certainly does not, but look what is being taught in Christianity about this. Are they not being taught that Christ’s death has already paid the penalty for all their sins that they continue to commit even as they confess to be born again? But what does Gods word have to say about it? Does not Gods word very clearly tell us that we are forbidden to continue in sin even though we are not under the law, but under grace? Yes it does and so they who believe otherwise will be cursed and will be rejected of God. Satan, through his many ministers, has multiplied millions of confessing Christians believing that the penalty for all their sins they continue to commit has already been paid for by Christ’s death on the cross, which is nothing but a deceiving lie of the devil. We have power over sin when Christ truly takes up his abode in our heart, which happens at conversion. Ninety some percent of confessing Christians today has been led to believe that Christ’s death on the cross paid the penalty for all sin including all the sins they continue to commit even as they claim to be saved. If this be true, then why did the apostle Paul clearly tells us these words as stated in Romans 3:25 that says, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Notice carefully if you will that Paul only spoke of “past sins” did he not? Paul tells us here that we must submit to “Gods righteousness” for the remission of our past sins; not the sins of the present and the future.
If you have truly received the Spirit of Christ into your heart, then you can through Christ do all things as Paul tells us in Philippians 4:13 that says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” God demands that we submit to his righteousness after our past sins have been forgiven and not to continue on in sin, but Christianity does not teach this truth. They, being inspired of Satan’s ministers, are teaching that Christ’s death has already paid the penalty for all the sins they continue to commit even after they claim to be forgiven of their past sins. Allow me to ask you this question. “When you asked God to forgive you of your sins, did you ask him to forgive you of all your sins that you will be committing for the rest ot your life, or was it not only the sins you committed in your past life? You should know and understand that you only referred to your sins of the past when (if you did) you asked God to forgive you. You were taught to believe that Christ’s death paid the penalty for all sins, which not only included the sins of your past, but for the sins of both the present and future, but is this what Gods word teaches? If so, then why does Paul clearly reveal in Romans 3:25 that God demands his righteousness for remission of “past sins” only? Gods righteousness is revealed in the gospel, which are the teachings of Christ revealed throughout the New Testament covenant. Listen to what Paul has to say about this as sted in Romans 1:16-17 that says “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” We submit to Gods righteousness as we believe and obey his word. Was not righteousness counted unto Abraham for believing God as stated in Romans 4:3 that says, “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” How do we believe God? We can only believe God by believing and obeying his every word revealed in the teachings of Christ, which is his gospel. So when we ask God to forgive us our sins that we have committed against him in our past life, we must then believe what his word says. Is this not exactly what Jesus himself tells us in what he said as stated in Mark 1:15 that says, “Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Repent means to be willing to forsake your life and then take up your cross and begin to follow Christ, which simply means to follow and obey his every word. On the day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost descended on those disciples, 3000 of those Jews gathered there on that day was convinced that what happened was of God. And so we hear Peter telling those Jews what they had to do when they asked him that question as stated in Acts 2:37 saying, “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then we hear Peter telling them as stated in Acts 2:38 these words saying, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Right here is what those Jews began to do as Jesus had said in Mark 1:15 that says, “repent ye, and believe the gospel.” They evidently repented and the next thing they had to believe and obey was the command to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, which was for the remission of their past sins. Does not Gods word promise the gift of the Holy Ghost if those two commands were obeyed? So this is where we all must begin, which is to repent and start believing the gospel as Jesus said in Mark 1:15. The first thing to do is to repent and the next thing to do is to be baptized in his name, which is for the remission of our past sins we all have committed against him. And then when we receive the Holy Ghost he will begin to lead us into all truth that will in time conform us to the image of Christ, as Paul tells us in Romans 8:29 that says, “ So in closing do you have power over sin, or does sin yet have power or dominion over you?
“He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.” AMEN
