Reference: II Corinthians 5:7
The above verse of scripture is telling usthat we (which are saved and born again christians) walk by faith and not bysight. Do you know exactly what it means my friend to live by faith and not bysight? If you are not walking by faith, then you are walking by sight thinkingthat you are walking by faith. If the truth were known about christianity todayyou would find out that most people are walking and living by sight instead ofliving by faith. If you will allow me to show you what it means to live byfaith then I can guarantee that I can prove to you whether you are living byfaith or by sight. Did you know thatChrist was a man that lived by faith as well as all the other disciples of theLord? First of all let us examine the scriptures to see what it means to liveby sight. You should understand that to live by sight simply means that you live according to what you see with yournatural eyes. A person that has never been converted or regenerated lives hisor her life by the menas of the things that are seen. A natural man lives hislife in a realm where he can only do things as according to what his naturalability allows him to do. Being in the natural state, a person can only do whathis natural mind tells him that he can do. The natural man cannot go againstwhat has been termed as the "Law of Physics". The law of Physics issaid and believed to be an inductive science, based upon the belief that thesame causes operating under the same conditions will always result in the sameeffects.
In other words the natural minded man is governed and limited in hisbelief that once a thing has been done by its natural cause then it cannot bechanged to have a different outcome. Using gravity as an illustration it isbelieved that everything that goes up must come down. The natural mind cannotbelieve that something can stay up without it coming back down to earth. TheBible reveals many different miracles that took place that actually defys orchallenges the law of physics. The natural man cannot believe a person canactually walk on water because he knows that the water cannot hold up theweight of a man. He knows that the amount of space and water that a man's footcovers is not enough water to have the sufficient pressure to hold up theweight of the man. The Bible says that Christ walked on the water. According tothis statement about Christ walking on the water, then this very act disprovesman's theory about the law of physics concerning water and it's properties etc.Since the natural man cannot walk on water based on the fact that he cannot goagainst the law of physics, then the natural minded man will never be able towalk on water or believe that it is possible. If the natural minded man doesbelieve that Christ can walk on water because of the fact that he is Godpossessing the power to do so, why then should it be such a rediculous thing tobelieve that a spiritual man other than Christ can also walk on water goingagainst the laws of physics? Since the apostle Paul tells us that we (bornagain christians) live by faith then can't you see the fact that to live byfaith means to live and do things not being under the power of the natural lawsof physics? To live by sight means that you live and are governed by thenatural laws of science not being able to do things outside of the naturalrealm. Man today has done many things that do not fall in the realm ofsupernatural things. In the realm of the supernatural is where Almighty Godworks. Looking at the instances of the Bible where great miraculous things tookplace, we can easily see that God was in the work and not puny unbelieving man.Since the word of God says that we live by faith, then living by faith meansthat we live by the power of God. There are more than one aspect of living byfaith than just believing that we live in a realm where mighty works aremanifested. The Bible reveals that Christ lived a sinless life while he was onthis earth in the form of flesh. This life was lived through the power that hepossessed. The word of God says thatwhen the Holy Ghost is come upon us then we receive the power of God.Unfortunately most people are totally ignorant of what this power is and whatit is for in the life of the true believer. The power that a true child of Godreceives by the Holy Ghost coming into their heart enables them to live a lifethat is opposite to the natural way of life. The word of God says that we arekept by the power of God through faith. This faith is our believing theword of God as revealed in the gospel of Christ. The apostle Paul states it bysaying that the life that he lived in the flesh was by the faith of Christ. (read Galatians 2:20)The faith of Christ is a very powerful thing. This is the very faith that alltrue christians will possess if Christ truly abides in their heart. This faithis not governed or limited by the circumstances that may arise. The natural manlooks at the prevailing circumstances and cannot do the things that he wants todo. The natural man falls under the ones who fail to hear God's word being adoer of the word. When the storms of life starts to prevail he cannot overcomethem because he is connected to the natural realm of life not being able to goagainst the natural laws of physics. He cannot by faith conquer his ownthoughts and fears. A natural man is held captive to the power of sin and Satanetc. The natural man's fear is caused by his natural belief and abilities. Thespiritual man is counted as being more than a conqueror through Jesus Christthat loved us and gave himself for us. The spiritual minded person can do allthings through Christ who strengthens them. We become strong faith filledchristians through and by the word of God.... Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The natural manrejects the word of truth and will not obey it because it goes against his waysand thoughts and ideas. Confessing christianity today lives and is governed bythe natural realm of life. They live by sight and not by faith. The commonteaching today in the religious world is that to believe on Christ acceptinghim as Lord and Saviour is what it means to live by faith. They are led to thinkthat their belief on Christ is what it means to live by faith. These type ofpeople are like a leaf tossed back and forth in the wind. Satan uses them for apunching bag when the storms of life begin to come their way. Jesus said whenthe storm beat upon the house without a firm foundation it fell, but when thestorm beat upon the house built upon the rock it will be able to weather thestorm because it has a good foundation under it. The sandy foundationchristians are those who refuse toreceive the truth and build upon it, and the rock foundation christians are theones who receive the word with meekness that will make them strong faith filledchildren of God that the natural realm has no power over. Satan is on thewarpath seeking all who he can devour. Believe you me he is devouring many. TheBible says that all things are possible to them that believe. My friend are youthe ball being used in Satan's game of baseball? Are you tossed back and forthnot being able to resist his will? Do you find it impossible to conquer Satan'shold on you with sin? Do you believe the circumstances instead of what the wordsays? Are you getting weaker instead of stronger? Are you full of fear thatwill eventually destroy you bodily and spiritually? Did you know that fear isthe opposite of faith? Is this fear that Christ spoke of about coming upon theearth your prevailing dictator? Can you answer positive?
