I will by the grace of God reveal to you exactly what we must do in order to be truly born again as the scriptures teaches it, but if you will not believe what Gods word says about this, then you may as well not waste your time and read this article. But if you are a person that fears God and trembles at his word, then I believe that God will open your eyes to this great truth so you can spiritually begin to prepare yourself for the soon return of Christ to this world. We all very well know that we absolutely must be born again in order to enter into the kingdom of God. It was the apostle John that tells us these words in John 3:3-5 saying, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

Now the very same apostle tells us these words stated in I John 3:9 that says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Now if you are among the multiplied millions of people saying today that they are born again and still living in sin, then I doubt very much that you will be willing to allow Gods word to be true and count all men as liars as we are told to do until they are proven out by the word of God. Now according to Gods infallible word those truly born of God do not and further more cannot commit sin, but we hear millions saying and believing they are born again even as they confess to be sinners committing sin against God in their daily lives. These people absolutely does not understand the truth of the new birth as the word of God teaches it, but in their blind ignorance they will continue to confess they have been born again and pay no heed whatsoever to what Gods word says about it through the apostle John.

Now before you can understand the truth of the new birth you must first realize that you as a human being is a person that consists of three separate parts or sections, which are (1) a body, and (2) a soul, and (3) a spirit. The total person is involved in the process of the new birth, but the flesh will still be flesh and continue to grow older daily until they keep their appointment with death. Again the apostle tells us these words that was spoken by Jesus as recorded in John 3:6 that says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” What Jesus is saying here about that which is born of flesh is flesh, is that every female whether it be of the origin of human life, or of the origin of the fowls of the air, or of the origin of the animal life, or of the origin of the fishes of the sea, every time the female brings an offspring into this world it will always be flesh. In other words flesh begets flesh. Now Jesus saying that which is born of the Spirit is spirit, he is saying that only a spirit can be born of the Spirit of God. So its the “spirits of a man or woman” that can only be born of the Spirit of God, but yet the total person consisting of a body, a soul, and a spirit is involved in the new birth.

So let me show you how the new birth is performed on the total person including their body, their soul, and their spirit. The first thing that must take place is the receiving of the Spirit into our very being. Where does the Spirit take up his abode in the believer that consists of a body, a soul, and a spirit? Let Gods word prove this as we hear what the apostle Paul tells us as stated in Galatians 4:6 that says “ And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” Now its very plain to see that the Spirit takes up his abode in our heart, but what part of our total being is our heart? Gods word reveals that we as human beings consist of three separate parts or sections, which is (1) a body, and (2) a soul, and (3) a spirit. But seeing the Spirit comes into our heart, then what section of our total being is our heart? First of all let me say that the “heart” of a person in this sense is not referring to the physical heart that pumps the blood throughout our body to keep us alive. The heart where the Spirit takes up his abode is our most inner being, which is a spiritual part of us. So this reveals that our “spiritual heart” has to be either our spirit or our soul. Gods word refers not only to our body, our soul, and our spirit, but it also uses the words “HEART AND MIND.” So this lets us know that the “heart” and “mind” has to be our soul or our spirit, but is our spirit our heart and our soul is our mind, or is our spirit our mind and our soul our heart?

I can prove to you from Gods word that our mind is our spirit, and our heart is our soul in what Paul tells us as stated in II Corinthians 7:1 that says, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” To prove that our heart is our soul look what Peter tells us as stated in Acts 15:8-9 that says, “And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.” Notice that Peter reveals that when the Spirit comes into our very being he comes into our “Heart” and purifies it by faith. Now look again at II Corinthians 7:1 and you will see that Paul tells us that we must cleanse our “flesh and spirit” to perfect holiness in the fear of God. Since we consist of (1) a body, and (2) a soul, and (3) a spirit, then it should be plain to see that it was our heart, which has to be our soul that was purified by faith as Acts 15:8-9 reveals.

Now seeing this truth let me now show you how the new birth is accomplished on you as a person that consists of a body, a soul, and a spirit. I stated above that the first thing that must take place is to receive the Spirit of Christ into our heart that purifies our heart from all the evil and wickedness that it contains. Before this purifying of the heart takes place do you realize what all the evil and wickedness is that the heart is infested with? Let Jesus tell us in what he said as sted in Mark 7:15-23 that says, “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Listen to all the evil and wickedness that the heart contains before the Spirit of Christ takes up his abode in that heart, but we see that all this evil and wickedness is spiritually cleansed from the heart when the Spirit takes up his abode there. Now you must now understand that this purifying of all the evil and wickedness from within the heart, this cleansing did not cleanse or touch the sin that yet infests both the flesh and the spirit of the believer. Did not Paul reveal to us in II Corinthians 7:1 that the cleansing of the filthiness of both our flesh and spirit is our service to do? Now how do we cleanse ourselves from all the filthiness of our flesh and spirit and thereby perfect holiness in the fear of God as Paul states? Notice what Paul said first in the scripture of II Corinthians 7:1 that says, “ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved.” What are these “promises” that Paul is referring to here? These promises are the many truths revealed throughout the NT covenant, which are the many teachings of Christ. This cleansing of all the filthiness of our flesh and spirit is the completion of the new birth. The purifying of the heart when the Spirit comes into the heart, is only the beginning of the work that God begins in us. Listen to what Paul tells us in Philippians 1:6 that says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” This entire work that God is author of is again referred to in what Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Notice that Paul tells us that we are “created in Christ Jesus.” This creation is accomplished by the Spirit in our heart by his leading us into all truth revealed in Gods word, and it is these many truths that will in a process of time conform us to the image of Christ. This work is referred to as “the baptism of the Holy Ghost.”

Paul refers to this in what he tells us in I Corinthians 12:13 that says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” This baptism into Christ by the Spirit starts after we receive the Spirit into our heart, which purifies the heart of all its sin and wickedness. As the Spirit leads us into the truth it will be these many truths that will in time crucify the lusts and desires of the flesh and at the same time it will renew the spirit of our minds. So to be born again is done by first receiving the Spirit into your heart, by obedience to Acts 2:38 that says, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.“ The receiving of the Spirit purifies the heart (soul) but then we must walk in the light of truth revealed by the Spirit that will cleanse the flesh and spirit from all inbred sin making the believer a new creature in Christ. “He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying unto the church.” Amen
