Scripture References: JEREMIAH 10:1-5
Are you one of the multiplied millions of people that has been caught up in this heathen practice of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ? You may say, “How can celebrating the birth of our Lord have anything to do with heathenism?” You believe that the mention of his name can’t possibly have anything to do with pagan practices, but have you taken the time to find out where the tradition of Christmas originated from? Are you one of the millions that will be deceived through the craftiness and whiles of the devil that will cause more than ninety percent of mankind to end up suffering the consequences of the second death in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone? Will you be honest with yourself and answer these simple questions that I want to ask you? (1) Would you please tell me exactly what “tree” is in question concerning what the prophet Jeremiah is referring to in verse three of this tenth chapter of the book of Jeremiah? (2) Does this tree having anything to do with the celebration of the birth of Christ? (3) Do you know of any other tree that is brought into the house for any other reason other than to be for the purpose of celebrating Christ’s birth?
Now if you will be honest with yourself you will have to agree that this tree is referring to the “Christmas tree” that millions of people throughout the world drag into their house every year and decorate it with lights and other ornaments. Now you may see absolutely nothing wrong with doing this, but did not Jeremiah the prophet of God connect this practice with the practice of heathenism? Are you one of the multiplied millions of people that completely ignores what the prophet says and goes right on with their heathen practice? Have you any idea where this practice came from? All you have to do is to realize what the prophet said about not learning the way of the heathen. Who are the “heathen” that Jeremiah the prophet is referring to? Do you know the meaning of the word “heathen?”
According to Webster’s dictionary of the English language the word heathen relates to people that worships false idols thinking they are worshipping Almighty God the creator of the universe and all things contained within it. But to truly worship the one true God must be done the way that the apostle John tells us as recorded in John 4:24 that simply says, “ God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” To worship God in spirit means to worship him in his spirit and not trying to worship him in the flesh. Paul tells us these words in Romans 8:8-9 these words saying, “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” There are utterly millions of people that worship God all in vain. This means that their worship is not in accord with how Gods word tells us to worship him. If we do not worship God according to his way, then our worship and obeisance is vain. It is what Matthew tells us in his epistle that reveals what this vain worship is. In Matthew 15:8-9 we find Gods word saying, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” There are multiplied millions of people worshipping God all in vain without realizing it. This is being done by laying aside the commandments of God and obeying instead the commandments and traditions of men, as stated above in Matthew 15:1-3 that says, “Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?” Traditions are the handing down orally of beliefs, customs, etc from generation to generation. Christmas is one of these customs handed down that absolutely did not originate in the early churches. Nowhere in Gods word are we told to lay aside a certain day to celebrate the birth date of Christ. Gods word does not reveal exactly when he was born and those who celebrate the Christmas season knows that, but children are taught that Christ was born that day and they believe that until they get old enough to come to realize that he was not.
Have you ever considered that when they find out that Christ was not born on that day and that Santa Claus was not real either, then that can have a drastic effect on their personal belief on Jesus Christ as being real? Children will believe what you tell them, but as they grow older they begin to realize that there absolutely is no such being as Santa Claus and found out they were being lied to and they will begin to question the reality of Jesus Christ being real as well. Have you considered all the outright lies that are told during the Christmas season? There is no Santa Claus, but that lie is told over and over again by millions of people every year that this tradition come on the scene. Gods word tells us in Revelation 21:7-8 these words saying, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Did you notice how John tells us here that “ALL LIARS” shall have their part in the lake of fire, which is the second death? Is there truly a Santa Claus that flies through the air with his chariot full of toys distributing them to children throughout the world? Does he go down chimneys to leave the toys under the Christmas tree? You know well as I do that is nothing but a fabricated lie of the devil, but yet you tell your children every year that there is a Santa Claus that comes down the chimney to deliver the toys to them. How can any person in their right mind think that God will overlook these lies during the Christmas season on behalf of the children so they wont be deprived of their joy of jolly good ole Saint Nick and his famous reindeer Rudolf with his shiny red nose leading the pack? This is paganism to the core, but deceived so-called confessing Christians goes along with it every year without fear thinking they are still born again children of God. Listen to what the apostle Paul tells us in I Timothy 5:22 that says, “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.” Do you hear Paul telling us not to be partakers of other men’s sins? Do you realize how many outright lies are being told during the Christmas season from year to year? If you go along with what is being taught about Christmas that includes the lies of Santa Claus and everything else it contains, then you are partaking of their sins, but what does the apostle John tell us in Revelation 18:4 that clearly says, “ And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Do you hear John saying that we are not to be partakers of her sins, that we be not partaker also of her plagues? These are the many sins of the confessing church world today that turns their nose up at Gods holy word and go right on their deceived way only to end up in a devils hell to suffer the consequences of the second death in the lake of fire. What about you friend are you willing to suffer the persecution of the religious crowd and come out from among them and wash your garment clean through the blood of Christ that died for you on the cross? Or are you going to continue right on in your deceived state thinking that God will excuse you for your ignorance and allow you into his eternal kingdom despite your rebellion against his word? “He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches” AMEN
