There is more than one way in which toanswer the question as to what is truth, but to know exactly what truth is thatcan be said to be the true word of God will lead to many different and varieddefinitions. A person may say that God's word is truth, but this does not proveexactly what is God's word and what is not. We of course know that God's wordis truth, but the question that should be asked is what word or words can beproven to be the word of God.
I have heard many preachers stand behindthe pulpit and say that God's word is truth, but this does not prove the factthat they know what God's word is that can be proven to be the truth. There aremany different denominational organizations in the world today who say andteach God's word is truth, but I will guarantee that each and everyone of themwill have a different version as to what is truth and what is not.
It is very possible for a preacher topreach for many years saying that God's word is truth and never once teachexactly what this truth is that he is talking about. In order to truly definewhat truth is then we must know that there is but one answer to any givensubject. This one answer to any given subject or question will either be thetruth of the matter or else it will not. Now we know that there are many different versions in the churchworld today on many of the subjects that the Bible contains, but there is butone true way of truth revealed in God's word. If two different organizationsheld to two different beliefs on a certain subject how would it be possible toknow who had the truth about it? Now I know for a fact that many people willsay that what they believe about a certain matter has just as much a chance ofbeing the truth as does the opposite view. Most people will tell you if youdiffer with them about a certain teaching, that you have your way of seeing things and they will have their way.Now this is certainly not the attitude to take when it comes to doctrinalmatters.
There is absolutely no two different viewsabout any teaching revealed in the word of God. If a person was truly sincerewith God and loved his word like they say they do, then I am sure they wouldnot take this attitude toward someone that may differ with their way of seeingthings about the Bible.
Anytime two different people share twodifferent views about a certain teaching in the word of God they will both takethe attitude that one can believe their way and the other can believe his orher way, but this only proves that neither one is truly sincere in theirconfession of being a child of God and wanting to know the truth.
Icertainly believe that a true sincere person that loves God will not take theattitude that what they believe is the truth and that everybody else isdefinitely wrong. A true sincere person will not reveal a spirit of resentmenttoward someone who may differ with them on doctrinal teachings. I say thissimply because if a person truly knows the truth on any given subject then theywill not get mad or upset in the least when they are confronted with someonewho differs with them in what they believe concerning the word of God revealedin the Bible.
I know for a fact that there are peoplewho hold different views about the Bible that nobody can convince that they arein error. There are two reasons why a person cannot be convinced that they arein error. One way would be simply because they would truly know truth, and theother way would be simply because the person who says they are in error is inerror themselves. If two people are wrong in their beliefs then it isimpossible for either one to convince the other that they are wrong. Two wrongscannot possibly make a right. How then can the truth be proven to be truth anderror be proven to be error? Now we know that the truth is the correct answerto a question or of a doctrinal teaching, but to prove what the correct answeris to any given subject then we must rely on the scriptures for the answer, butwho or what can we rely on in order to know that the truth can be known?
The Bible is a book that anyone can read, but it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of its mysteries that itcontains. Each and every person who claims to be a preacher or a Bible teacherwill admit the fact that the Holy Spirit must reveal the truth to a person. Each and every denominational organization in the world today will say thatthey possess the gift of the Holy Spirit and that he reveals the truth to themas they read and study the Bible.
If every preacher confesses to have theHoly Spirit and that he reveals the truth to them, then who can say they havetruth and who does not? How can a Baptist minister convince a Pentecostalminister that he is wrong in what he teaches?
Or how can a Pentecostal minister convincea Baptist minister that he is wrong in what he proclaims? Now we know that thedoctrine the Baptist teaches is contrary to what the Pentecostals teaches andthe same is true with what the Baptist teaches in comparison to the other manyorganizations. All denominations are split in what they believe and teach.
How then can a person know what is truthand what is not? Actually there is but one way to do this and this is done byknowing what Jesus said about the truth in John8:30-32. In theseverses of scriptures we find Jesus saying that if a person continues in hisword after belief is confessed in him, then they would know the truth and itwill set them free. Now according to this statement if you are not free thenyou are void of truth not truly knowing what it is. Do you know what it meansto be free my friend? To be free simply means to be free from the power of sin.Now if you are free from sin then you possess the power to completely ceasefrom it. Every denominational organization that I know of teaches that it'simpossible to completely cease from sin, but God's word as plain as the nose onyour face tells us that whosoever commits sin is of the devil.
Now the average person will not acceptthis truth simply because of the fact that they do commit and live in sin.Since they do yet commit sin and openly admits it, they twist the meaning of I John 3: 8-10 saying thatthis means that a person does not practice sin in a habitual way like anordinary sinner does. They will not allow God to be true and so they change theword to suit their own pernicious way.
The word of God says that whosever is bornof God DOES NOT and CANNOT COMMIT SIN, but I'll guarantee that the averageconfessing christian today will reject this truth simply because they yet livein and commit sin.
The reason why they yet live in and commitsin is simply because they are one hundred percent void of knowing what thetruth is and possessing it in their heart and lives. Can you show me anorganization that teaches exactly what the word of God says in reguards to thesin question as John teaches it in IJohn 3:8-10?
My friend the only thing that will set youfree is the truth. Jesus himself said that he is the WAY, the TRUTH,and the LIFE. If you are void of truth then my friend, you are void ofChrist. If you find yourself doing things that you know is sin, then you do notpossess the Spirit of Truth (which is Christ) in your heart.
If you say that you do not willfullycommit sin you are still under the power of sin's influence. God's word plainlyreveals that sin SHALL NOT HAVE POWER OVER YOU for ye are not under thelaw but under grace...... if you are born again.
