Reference: Matthew 28:1, and Acts 2:38
My friend, as you begin to read thisarticle, will you please read the two verses of scripture found above and tellyourself if you can whether you think that these scriptures are in directcontridiction one to the other. Did you ever wonder why Jesus told hisdisciples to go teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and then we read in Acts 2:38 where Peter iswrong in saying to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ ? Do you think thatPeter is wrong in saying to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ seeing thatChrist told them to baptize all nations in the name of the Father, the Son, andof the Holy Ghost? Maybe you are one that doesn't honestly know why these twoverses of scripture seem to contridict one another. Friend, if you believe that the Bible is the trueinspired word of God then you cannot say nor believe that God's wordcontridicts itself. If more people would realize that there is a revealed truth concerning these versesof scriptures then we would have more people coming to the knowledge of the truth that the Biblecontains. If you are a person that truly loves God and that you desire to knowthe truth of his word then you can easily come to realize that Peter was not inerror when he commanded the people on the day of Pentecost to be baptized inwater in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Please notice verycarefully that water baptism is the subject in question in the verses ofscriptures of the book of Acts. Is there a doubt in your mind about whether ornot that the baptism in water is referred to in Acts2:38?
Now take a close look at thescripture found in Matthew 28:19 and tell me if I am wrong in the fact that you THINKthat water baptism is referred to in this scripture based on the fact that theword "baptizing" is used in this verse of scripture. Are you informedof the fact that there are "TWO" types of baptism spoken of in thescriptures? If you are not then allow me to refresh your memory with the factthat there is a spiritual baptism and there is a water baptism. The spiritual batpism is performed by the one Spirit as so stated in I Corinthians 12:13and the baptism in water is of course performed by the minister. I am quitesure that you know that the minster is the one that baptizes you in water andthe Spirit is the one that baptizes you in the one body of Christ. Would youbelieve it my friend if I told you that the baptism spoken of in Matthew 28:19 is referring tothe spiritual baptism into the body of Christ? If Matthew 28:19 is not referringto the spiritual baptism then Peter was definitely in error in what he said in Acts 2:38 because he veryplainly told the people to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and not inthe name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. You may tell me that Matthew 28:19 can't bereferring to the spiritual baptism based on the fact that Christ commanded hisdisciples to go and do the baptizing and it is the Spirit that does thebaptizing into Christ's body. You would be telling me that the disciples arenot the Holy Spirit that does the baptizing into Christ's body but you areforgetting the fact that the Holy Spirit is the one "in" thedisciples teaching the truth of the gospel of Christ. The Spirit is thebaptizer of the believer into Christ's body, which is the church. Yourobedience to the revealed word of truth preached by the true ministers ofChrist will baptize or immerse you into Christ's body which is the church. Tobe baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost means foryou to be baptized into the body of Christ. The name referred to in Matthew 28:19 is Jesus Christ. In order for you to be baptized into Christ's body you must hear and obey therevealed truth of the gospel. Repentance and water baptism are two primaryprincipals of the doctrine of Christ that you must do and obey. These twoprincipals are not all there is for you to receive and obey. Repentance andwater baptism are the very first commands of the gospel that you must obey. This is why Peter began his preaching in Acts the second chapter with thecommands of repentance and water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. In orderfor you to be baptized into Christ's body, which is the church, you must beinstructed from the word by the revelation of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost ispromised to you "if" you repent and be baptized in Christ's name. This is the very beginning of the spiritual baptism by the one Spirit that youreceive by your obedience to the revealed word of God. The Spirit in your heartreveals the word to your heart as the ministers teach it to you from thescriptures. Each and every individual must have the gift of the Holy Spirit intheir heart and lives because the word will profit them nothing unless hequickens the word to your heart. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:5 that there isone Lord, one faith, and one baptism. This one baptism spoken of here is theone baptism of the Spirit as also spoken of in ICorinthians 12:13. This is thebaptism spoken of in Matthew 28:19. The teaching ministry that the gospel reveals is thebaptism by the one Spirit into the body of Christ. Our baptism into Christ isdone by our receiving and obeying the revealed truth that the gospel contains. This is why Christ commanded his disciples to go into all the nations teachingor baptizing them in the name of the Father, the of the Son, and of the HolyGhost. He was actually telling his disciples to make converts out of allnations by baptizing them into the one body of Christ. This is accomplishedthrough and by the teaching of the revealed word of truth that the gospelreveals. This commission was began by the apostles on the day of Pentecost. Thevery first commands that must be received and obeyed are the commands of repentance and water baptism in the nameof Jesus Christ. Your obedience to these commands imparts the gift of the HolyGhost in your heart and life and he will then reveal to you the truth that thegospel contains. We are told that theHoly Spirit will lead and guide us into all truth and this revealed truth willmake us free. False teachers in the world today are preaching that Matthew 28:19 means for you tobe baptized in water using the title form of the Father, the Son, and of theHoly Ghost, but if you are a true believer of the word of God and you are one ofhis sheep, then you will receive the simple truth and obey it without askingany questions of its truthfulness and accuracy. If you are a person that thinksthat the Bible contridicts itself then you might as well stop reading thisarticle and throw your Bible away, because if the Bible does contridict itselfthen it can't be the word of God. Almighty God does not say one thing in oneplace and say a different thing in another place on the very same subject inquestion. What you need to do is acceptand believe the word of God allowing his word to be true and man's word a lie. There are thousands of preachers in the land today changing the word of truthinto a lie thus causing God to turn them over to a reprobate mind. If youfollow a person that says the word says this or that and not that or this, thenyou are following a vain person......
