Scripture Reference: Hebrews 7:19
This scripture ofHebrews 7:19 is reference to both the Old Testament covenant, whichwas given by Moses, and the New Testament covenant, which came byJesus Christ. Notice that the writer tells us that the law, which wasthe Old Testament covenant, it made nothing perfect, which refers tothe perfecting of man. But notice in the last part of this verse ittells us that the bringing in of a better hope did, which isreferring to the New Testament covenant that came by Jesus Christ. Ifyou cannot see the purpose of both of these covenants, then youcertainly have been blinded from this truth of the matter. We canclearly see that the purpose of the Old Testament covenant was not toperfect man, but the purpose of the New Testament covenant was toperfect man. Perfection is certainly the thing that God deals withwhen he intervened in the affairs of man. The first man Adam was madeperfect in every detail including his whole being that consists of abody, a soul, and a spirit.
There was no sin in theworld to mar the perfect nature of Adam before he sinned against God.You must understand that it's sin that marred the nature of Adamcausing him to fall out of fellowship with God and into a life ofsin, which is down right rebellion against the very nature of God whois holy and perfect in every detail. Since God is concerned about theperfecting of man, then what was the purpose of the Old Testamentcovenant that he revealed to Moses? The apostle Paul reveals theanswer to this question in his epistle of Galatians 3:19 that says,"Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because oftransgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise wasmade; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator." Thelaw of the first covenant was only added because sin once again beganto take its toll on mankind as it did in the days of Noah where allflesh had corrupted his way upon the earth, as Genesis 6:12 states.God destroyed all living creatures including man with the exceptionof Noah and his family. They were saved to start populating the earthagain with human life. But after the flood, when man once again beganto populate the earth, sin began again to corrupt man as it didbefore the flood.
So God injected oradded the law to keep sin at a minimum until Christ came to revealthe contents of the new covenant that would solve the problem of sinand bring man back to the state of perfection that Adam was in beforehis fall into sin and rebellion against God. This is exactly whatHebrews 7:19 reveals. It would be the true teachings of Christ thatwould bring man back into perfect fellowship with God if histeachings are received and believed and obeyed. But this truth is notbeing proclaimed by the religious clergy today, as well as in timespast for hundreds of years. Very few can see and understand the truthabout perfection as Gods word clearly teaches it. Jesus himself saidin Matthew 5:48 that we are to be perfect even as our Father inheaven is perfect, but listen to the religious crowds deny this greattruth today. They do not believe in perfection based merely on thefact they know they are not perfect and they believe that they willnever be perfect in this life. The reason why they are not perfectand believe they never will be perfect is simply because they are notbelieving the truth of Gods holy word concerning this matter. Theyare believing all the hundreds of false prophets doctrines that Jesuswarned us about in Matthew 24:11 that says, "And many falseprophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." These false prophetshave come and gone from the scene leaving their damnable doctrinesbehind to deceive the masses as Jesus said.
These many doctrines ofdevils are still being proclaimed by Satan's ministers, and mostpeople will believe them simply because these doctrines do not comeagainst sin, but rather they condone sin causing the masses tobelieve their lies to be damned. It was the apostle Paul that saidGod would send strong delusions to those who fail to believe thetruth that would save their souls, as stated in 2 Thessalonians2:10-12 that says, "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousnessin them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send themstrong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all mightbe damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure inunrighteousness." Notice how Paul is saying that those who refusethe truth will have pleasure in unrighteousness, which is sin. Allunrighteousness is sin, as I John 5:17 tells us saying, "Allunrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death." Anyonewho refuses to believe the truth concerning sin will receive a lie tobe eternally damned, as Gods word clearly teaches, but it seems thatmost confessing Christians today couldn't care less as to what Godsword has to say, and go on their stiff necked way to a devils hellblaspheming Gods holy word to high heaven.
Most will continuebelieving the many lies and continue to reject Gods word as if it'sGods word that's in error and not them. Millions are claiming to beborn again today as they still live in and commit sin ignoring what IJohn 3:8-10 has to say regarding this matter. John, who was inspiredof the Spirit of God, tells us in I John 3:8 that those who commitsin is of the devil; but those who do commit sin will reject whatJohn said and go right on believing they are born again not caringwhat John says about it. And I John 3:9 says that whosoever is bornof God "does not" and further more says they "cannot commitsin" but they will turn their nose up at that statement andblaspheme it. The scripture of I John 3:10 clearly reveals that sinis the determining factor that proves who is of God and who is not,but yet millions will blaspheme that statement as well, and go righton living in sin strutting around like peacocks telling everybodythey are born again. These people are nothing but blasphemers of Godsword and to blind to realize their pernicious way. But there is noexcuse for anyone to be deceived from the truth, but yet the greatestmajority will end up in a state of apostasy claiming to be what theyare not. Christianity today is nothing more or less than a multipliedmillions of sinners calling themselves Christians having beendeceived by the many false prophets doctrines in the land today, aswell as in times past. It seems there is no way in the world thatthese deceived people will accept the truth about sin and the churchand will suffer the consequences of the 2nd death, but allthat I can do as well as anybody else, it to tell them what Gods wordsays and it's entirely up to them what they are going to do aboutit. I know that most (if not all) will reject this truth even thoughthere are many scriptures that bear out this great truth. Did notMatthew 5:48 tell us to be perfect, as the Father in heaven isperfect? Did not Hebrews 7:19 tell us that the law made nothingperfect, but the bringing in of a better hope, which is the NewTestament covenant did? Did not Paul tell us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 isto instruct us in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect?Did not Paul tell us in Ephesians 4:10-13 that the purpose of theministry of the word of God is to perfect the saints? But yetmillions will reject these truths and go right on their deceived wayand still confess to be born again Christians while they live intheir pleasures of sin.
It was Stephen thatsaid these words as stated in Acts 7:51 that says, "Ye stiff neckedand uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the HolyGhost: as your fathers did, so do ye." And how true this is todaywhen it comes to the truth of sin and the church. The church today isto stiff necked and uncircumcised in their heart and ears to acceptand believe what Gods word says about this truth and go their merryway to a devils hell. I am certainly glad that my salvation is notbased on what others do and believe, but that it's a personal thingbetween each and every one of us in the sight of God and that we mustwork out our own salvation with fear and trembling. But if you wantto deny Gods word on this subject and continue believing you are bornagain living in your sin and rebellion against God, then so be it. Ihave washed my hands of the matter and will not be held responsiblefor anyone that fails to believe the truth that will save the soulfrom a devils hell. Only God can open your closed mind against truth, but he cannot and will not unless you are willing to let God be trueaccording to his word and count all men as liars until proven out bythe word of God. Amen
