Scripture References: Romans 1:24-27
Does a person have to be a theologian with degrees in theology to understand what Gods word is revealing to us in the above verses of scripture found in the holy and infallible word of Almighty God? Anybody that has an ounce of understanding can read the above scriptures and know that Gods word definitely condemns homosexuality and lesianism as gross sins in the eyes of God. Why then are so many that is involved in the sin of homosexuality so quick to think that Gods word does not condemn it? They are only in vain trying to justify themselves believing they were born possessing those traits and are not responsible for their actions concerning it. But I wonder how many people that are involved in this lifestyle has taken the time to consider that the sin of homosexuality is only one sin out of hundreds of others that are condemned as well. Nobody is born into this world from the womb of their mother as being a homosexual, nor a thief, nor a killer, nor any other gross sin that can be thought of. All were born possessing a sinful nature that eventually led them in sin and rebellion against God. Sin has many ways of manifesting itself in the life of a person, but if homosexuality is a trait that one is born with, then why is not every person born into this world a practicing homosexual?
Why is not everyone born into this world a thief that makes their living by stealing from others? And why is not everyone born into this world as murderers? What we need to understand is that sin can be manifested in many different ways in a persons life, but everybody will not be guilty of every known sin. Is every person born into this world a homosexual, or a murderer, or a thief, or an adulterer, or any other known sinful lifestyle? No, but sin can cause a person to be guilty of one or more of any type of sin. Why then are some guilty of practicing the sin of homosexuality and many are not? Did you know that under certain circumstances sin can cause you do a certain thing that you would not ordinarily do? Many people has not taken the life of another person, but is it not a fact that any person can be guilty of killing someone if they get angry enough to do it? Don’t we hear all the time how a certain family member has taken the life of one in their own family because of a quarrel between them? Many people has not killed another person, but get them mad enough they are very capable of committing the crime of murder or any other crime.
In a fit of anger many people has done things that they would not have done if they did not lose their temper. Why then do some people get involved in homosexuality and most do not? Everybody is somewhat different from everybody else. We all have different likes and dislikes in many things that pertains to life. Every person does not like the same kind of food, etc. What kind of world would this be if every person was exactly alike in every-thing they do and everything they eat or the things they get involved in as they live their life on this earth? Could every person get involved in the practice of homosexuality? Is it not a sin like many other things are as far as God is concerned? Many that are involved in the practice of homosexuality believe they were born with those tendencies and are not responsible for their actions, but what they fail to understand is that it is the heart that is deceitful above all things and is desperately wicked and only God can know it. It was the prophet Jeremiah that tells us this as stated in Jeremiah 17:9 that says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Sin, being deceiving as it is, can cause a person to do things under certain conditions such as when they are drunk, or under the influence of drugs. Yes there are some sins that Gods word calls an abomination and homosexuality and lesbianism is two of them. No person within themselves by their own will power can cease from a sinful lifestyle. The unconverted sinner when born into this world is born possessing a sinful nature that will lead them into a sinful lifestyle. Only Christ can intervene in a person’s life and make a complete change in their lifestyle. When Christ truly comes into the wicked heart of man that heart is spiritually changed and all the wickedness it contained has been purified. But this coming into the heart did not cleanse the body and spirit of the sin that both the body and spirit is contaminated with. This is why Paul tells us these words in II Corinthians 7:1 saying, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” This cleansing of the sin of both the body and spirit is accomplished by walking in the truths of Gods word as the Spirit reveals these truths to them.
It was the apostle John that reveals this truth in what he said in I John I:7 that says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” As we walk in the truth it will cleanse us from all the inbred sin in both our body and spirit that will in time perfect the holiness of God in our life. And without this holiness no man shall see the Lord, as the writer of the book of Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 12:14 that says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” So if the believer fails to walk in the light of all truth revealed by the Spirit, then they certainly will not enter into Gods kingdom. Both sins of homosexuality and lesbianism can be destroyed in ones life, only if they believe and obey Gods word as it is revealed to them. We can only through Christ that strengthens us overcome the sin that yet infests both our body and spirit . The apostle Paul makes this clear in what he said in Philippians 4:13 that says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” To overcome the sins of homosexuality and lesbianism is no different from overcoming any other sins of the flesh and spirit. Nobody was born a homosexual, but because we all were born possessing a sinful nature we can be guilty of any known sin. There are many preachers that condemns the homosexual and the lesbian lifestyle, but yet their church pews are filled with all manner of other sins. The crowd that brought the woman to Jesus that was taken in the act of adultery, they were about to stone her for her sin. But Jesus said to them, “He that is without sin, let him cast the first stone.” Why do you suppose they all dropped their stones and tuck their tails between their legs and walk off like a whipped puppy? Jesus proved to them she was no worse or better than they were, because they all were guilty of sin in one way or another as she was. That’s the same way a lot of preachers are today, they will bash the homo and the lesbian, but their own church pews are full of sinners. They think that the sin of the homosexual and the lesbian are the only sins that will send one’s soul to a devils hell, but no sin whatsoever will enter the kingdom of God. These self righteous hypocritical clergy men are just as guilty as they are, but they are to blind to see it. So yes, homosexuality and lesbianism is an abominable sin before God, but that’s not the only sin that will bar one out of his kingdom. He that has an ear to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. AMEN
